France-Ireland: 120 Years of Rugby

On the occasion of the Rugby World Cup (held in France from 8 September to 28 October 2023), the Embassy of Ireland and the Centre Culturel Irlandais are celebrating the rugby relationship between France and Ireland. This exhibition in the CCI’s courtyard retraces 120 years of a vibrant, colourful history that has been transformed from the first twentieth century game in Dublin to the modern professional contests; it also showcases the experiences of Irish players and coaches who have contributed to French rugby. Curator Paul Rouse tells a fascinating story of a rivalry, that is also the story of a friendship and of cultural exchange uniting Ireland and France for twelve decades.
